Igniting Change: Designing the Spark Brand Identity

Background

Crafting a bold new identity

Following a series of strategic sessions, in close collaboration with strategists from Netvlies, it became clear that the existing brand identity no longer aligned with the company’s aspirations. It was time for a fresh, innovative approach. As the digital designer, I was tasked with developing the new brand identity, including the design of the logo.

The brand identity was optimized for both offline and online use, ensuring that the visual language seamlessly came together across all touchpoints. The new logo reinforces the name ‘Spark,’ symbolizing the spark that ignites interest in learning and development. It’s a powerful and inviting symbol that immediately captures attention.

The color palette was carefully selected: blue represents trust and professionalism, while the soft pink highlights the human aspect of the brand. The typography is geometric, with a subtle visual link to classic schoolbook letters, giving the brand a timeless yet contemporary feel. The design language is inspired by the energy that comes from a spark—dynamic, vibrant, and full of potential.

Driving distinctive brand recognition

The visual identity has not only created a more powerful brand presence but also led to distinctive brand recognition. The fresh, energetic look speaks directly to the core values of the brand, bringing them to life in a unique way across all touchpoints. The visual elements amplify the brand experience, whether on an online platform or in physical communications.

To ensure consistent application of the new identity, a practical brand guide was delivered. This guide clearly explains all the brand assets and provides guidelines for their use, ensuring that the brand is presented powerfully and uniformly in every communication.
